Young Promoters Program (JP)

Admissible Candidates

  • 18-35 years old on date of deposition of project;
  • Canadian citizen or a landed immigrant;
  • Permanent resident of the province of Quebec;
  • Must have experience or training related to the project;
  • Willing to work full time in the business.

Admissible Projects

Creation of a first or second business legally established by the promoter.

Create at least one permanent full-time job (including one or both of the promoters) and one part-time job for a period of at least 3 months; in the two years following the project’s start-up.

The promoter has to show, to the CLD’s satisfaction, that the financial help will be necessary for the realisation of the project.

 

Admissible Expenses

  • Land, building, equipment, machinery, vehicles, incorporation expenses and all other costs of the same nature with the exception of the goodwill expenses.
  • Acquisition of technologies (know-how, license of fabrication or agreement, patent, etc.), software or packages, or any other expense of the same nature.
  • Cash flow needs strictly related to the business operation, calculated for the operations of the first year.


Nature of the Financial Aid

The financial aid is non-reimbursable, as long as the client follows the contract conditions.

The amount of the financial help will be determined by the CLD.  The combined financial help from the Quebec government and the Federal government cannot exceed 50% of the admissible expenditures.

 

Restrictions

The expenses affected to the realization of a project but made before the date of the reception of the official request at the CLD are not admissible.

The financial help granted cannot be used for the operation of an organisation, to finance its debts service, to reimburse future loans or for the financing of a project already realized.

The sum of subsidies received from the CLD may not exceed $ 10,000 per business or promoter.
